On March 8th 1999, there were 180 inhabitants ( 82 men and 98 women) in Montferrand-du-Périgord, that is to say a density of 14 inhabitants to the square kilometres. The village population has decreased by 17 inhabitants since 1990 and 31 inhabitants since 1975.
Montferrand-du-Périgord belongs to a district of Beaumont-du-Périgord ( whose "sous-préfecture" is Bergerac). The village is composed of 111 lodgings : 74 main homes and 27 second homes. (10 houses were unoccupied when the census was made.
